Week 4: Failure

221.8.

I think we can safely say that was a legit weigh-in, given that I posted the same number two weeks in a row.

I'll get unstuck this week. Promise.

Week 3: Failure

221.8.

Let's hope this is a fluke weigh-in and I'm really making progress like it seems I have been over the past few weeks. Suspending judgment until next week. :)

Blog: Bills' coaching search

It has been said that the Bills are "first in line at the buffet" when it comes to the search for a head coach. Over two dozen interested parties have contacted One Bills Drive in an attempt to get an interview.

Before the weekend is out, the Bills will have interviewed all of the top candidates and every type of candidate one could hope for: Ken Whisenhunt, former Arizona Cardinals head coach; Lovie Smith, former Chicago Bears head coach; Chip Kelly, Oregon head coach; Ray Horton, Arizona Cardinals defensive coordinator; and Mike McCoy, Denver Broncos offensive coordinator. In that list you have two former NFL head coaches (one defensive-minded, one offensive-minded), the hottest name in college football, and two hot NFL coordinators (again, one from each side of the ball). If the Bills hire any of these people, they will be in a good position.

Buddy Nix and Chan Gailey can be credited for getting the Bills into this position. Three years ago, during the search that ended with the hire of Gailey, the Bills got no inquiries for the position and had to seek out candidates. Each of them, with the exception of Gailey (who was out of work and completely out of demand), declined. This time, it's a completely different story. The reasons for that are a better roster, a 10-year lease agreement, and Ralph Wilson's giving up of the team presidency.

In 2013, the Bills will have a new head coach, a new quarterback, and a new future. I love it. Let's go Buffalo!

Blog: Chan Gailey's dismissal

In a word, heartbreaking.  Necessary, but gut-wrenching.  This is the first coach we've had since Marv Levy (of the early '90s) who actually felt for the people of Buffalo, and you can hear it in his voice.  You feel bad that he's not going to get the chance to be here to lead the way for the turnaround.  I thought it would be him, and he believed it would be as well.  It was hard to see such a good man get abused by the Buffalo media, particularly assclown Jerry Sullivan, over the past few weeks.  I wish Chan Gailey the very best and can't express how wonderful it felt to hear him say that this is the only team that's ever fired him that he'll pull for.

January 1, 2013

On January 1, 2013, I weighed 222.4 pounds.  It is extremely difficult to withhold comment on this, but my policy now is to man up to my numbers.  Regardless, I will never be this heavy again.

Comments are disabled on this introductory post.  The 2013 journey starts now.

Thank you.
